Re: Iced Earth

I'm really looking forward to the release of Iced Earth's new album Dystopia next month.
I've seen Stu Block live w/ his band Into Eternity 3 times. They opened for various different power metal acts I saw out in Hollywood a few years back. Dude is very good..not Matt but Matt is gone so....I heard a few new songs the other day and they smoke!! Here is a re-recording of Dante's Inferno w/ Stu at the helm. IMO the new material has way more promise then the Ripper era stuff ever did.

Re: Iced Earth

What is your opinion on their Horror Show album?
Every time I hear a song from it, it is something that I really enjoy!
Currently listening to The Phantom Opera Ghost:
First time I've heard that one. Pretty good tune. :grinthumb

Yeah I listened to one other tune earlier (can't remember which one) and I liked it. I should pick up that album. :D

I remember back in the 90's when I ~first~ hear IE, I thought they were kind of an Iron Maiden clone. Not so much vocally as musically. Now when I listen to them, I don't hear that as much. *shrug*

Good band though. I SHOULD own more of their stuff.

They are what Metallica should be...really there are many bands out of Europe and BIG underground bands like Icead Earth that have alot of what should have been many an 80's metal band's growth.

I need to find my Iced Earth disc with all of the covers on it.

God of Thunder (Kiss cover)

Of course I like the original better, but this is a nice heavy version of GoT.
