Re: Iced Earth

Thanks DKW!
That makes things a lot easier on my end :heheh:
Is 'Horror Show' a good album?
I have a couple songs from that album

What do you say about the Remastered Night of the Stormrider?
As good? Better? Worse?

Horror Show is good yes but not their best by any means.

I haven't heard the remastered version TBH. I started listening to Iced Earth early in their career and loved the original version so I never saw any reason to replace it with the newer version. I don't really care for the newer artwork.

Re: Iced Earth

^^Not much to add to DKW's thorough list, I have every album IE has released myself and although I know Wolf doesn't like Ripper that much, "The Glorious Burden" has moved into my top 5 IE pantheon of albums now.

Here's a good set for you to collect Harkat.

Slave To The Dark.

Re: Iced Earth

^^It's a good starter set for a new fan of the band.:D

If you do like a band a lot these sets are cost effective, usually cheaper than buying individual albums...but I understand if you pick away at them over time.

It sure is a nice looking edition though.

Re: Iced Earth

Good band. They've been through quite a bit of line-up changes but I liked them best with Tim Owens on vocals (Judas Priest).

Re: Iced Earth

Matt Barlow will always be my favorite, but unlike a lot of fans I thought Ripper did very well when he was in IE.

Now that Barlow is leaving(or left) after their current tour I will be curious how the replacement does...I remember John mentioned who they picked but can't remember his name....

Re: Iced Earth

I think my favorite song by IE would have to be the power ballad I Died For You. I'm sure some metal purist/junkie would tell me to blow the "power ballad" label out my ass, but oh well... it really is power ballady to me (something I usually love).

I like both the studio version as well as the Live in Athens version.

Re: Iced Earth

As long as you like a few IE songs that's good enough for me. They are probably my favorite American power metal band, I am just a little sad that Matt is leaving again.

Re: Iced Earth

I only have a couple of their CDs other than Live in Athens. I like both the early stuff and the couple that Owens did with them. They are definitely a good band. I should own more, but just don't.
