Deep Purple (of course) even though 'Blackers' didn't like it which makes it even better ha ha ha... Actually it's quite a good album track on the Stormbringer album.
One of those fluid Blackmore guitar solos that just fits the song perfectly (like Lazy, Stone Cold and Street Of Dreams).
You may know that Ritchie didn't like the song Hold On and I believe the guitar solo in the song that is included on the Stormbringer album was a 'one take' job because Ritchie either refused or just wouldn't play it again and also I am fairly certain that Ritchie played the solo with only his thumb possibly in disgust over the song it's self?.
Sorry my last post on this page wasn't correct so I've amended this page. I thought there was another album track called Hold On which from memory I thought appeared on a Robin Trower album called Long Misty Days from 1976 but in fact the said album track is called Hold Me and not Hold On my error.
