Re: Hank III

That video with the three Buds just initiated a flashback on this end...:lmao:

I am retired from that field, but it was a lot of fun when I was younger.

HAHAHA Yeah, I used to live pretty hard 24/7 now I'm on part-time status :D

Here's some more III. Hope I can turn a few people on it this stuff because
like Magic said ...I love this stuff

Re: Hank III

I heard some stuff from III a number of years ago and it was pretty rockin'. Much more rock than country. I'm a huge fan of his old man (Hank Jr) and I always figured I had time to check this stuff out, but other than a couple of songs I heard those years ago, I've pretty much forgotten about him

Will have to give these vids a listen tonight.

Re: Hank III

III actually plays half his live shows in a band call ASSJACK .They are more
like metal/cowpunk then anything else I guess. He also plays bass in a band called Super Joint Ritual , with Phil from Pantera, Down etc. ..

He has plenty of musician friends in the metal underground so rock and metal are certainly a big part of what he is and does.

Two of my very favorites

Re: Hank III

Didn't he work with a band called "The Damn Band" too??

Yes, the Damn Band is the band you see in all the videos posted in this thread
and is his band while he is playing as Hank III.

He also has a band that plays hillbilly/punk rock stuff ( heavy on the punk )
called Assjack.
III usually closes the last part of the live set w/ Assjack.

Re: Hank III

Was supposed to see him with my ex, but that won't happen. It will be hard to catch him with friends of mine since they do not listen to this type of music at all haha.

Assjack
Arson Anthem
Superjoint Ritual
Antiseen

Listen to them all and was turned onto his solo stuff because of those bands I listen too.

Re: Hank III

I was first made aware of him through SuperJoint Ritual . Someone told
me that the bassist was Hawk Williams the third, and that he plays Alt. Country
w/ a strong punk attitude in his own band , and so even though Country really isn't my thing I had to give him a listen . I obviously love his stuff now ,thous the thread :D

I really want to see them live.

Some of it I liked, some not as much. He reminds me a lot more of Hank the First than Jr, aside from the foul mouth (which no, it doesn't bother me).
'
Shades of Black is pretty cool as you can see the obvious Ghost Riders in the Sky in that song.
