Hall and Oates are one of the most successful Billboard chart artists ever.Back in the 80's,they overtook the Everly Brothers as the top duo. Many have dismissed the famed duo as being merely composers of top forty fluff, but the bottom line here is they pleased the general public enough to have many, many hit tunes.(Five number ones?)Always a big admirer of "Sara Smile" and "Rich Girl"(which I think was their first number one).Daryl Hall deserves to be considered at least a bit more whenever people discuss pop music's better vocalists. Also, they had a rather tight backing group and the songs I've heard by them were very produced.I do agree they seemed to be mostly shooting for hit singles, but they did, however, master the approach..........

...Many have dismissed the famed duo as being merely composers of top forty fluff...

The same could be said for most early 80's bands, even the ones that started in the 70's.

I liked all the 80's stuff from Hall & Oates. Some of the best of all the 80's.

Funny thing, in the video for Out Of Touch, 3 guys have guitars, but I'm not sure there were any guitar parts in that song, much less three.

I may not be an expert on these guys but they were one of my first exposures to real music. I remember finally being curious to explore my parents cassettes and finding two by these guys
Indeed...... I think my favourite album is H2O.. (Last GOOD one from them)
