Vincent as well as Eddie Cochran, both cut from the very same rock and roll spiritual cloth, injected a great deal of passion into the genre and were big influences on the Beatles, who actually met Vincent during their Hamburg,Germany club days in the early '60's.

The lands of Marshall Stack.
Eugene Vincent Craddock!..a Despatch rider in the Forces and a Rebel with a Cause.
Always liked his music and his image- sadly plagued with illness & pain after a motorcycle crash...and then surviving that car smash in England that took Eddie Cochran from us. Two weird things occurred that fateful night- as they loaded their guitars into the Ford Consul Taxi..a very young Marc Bolan, later of T.Rex held open the cab door and waved them off.
Near Chippenham that night- at the site of the crash...a very young Cop was the first to attend the scene and took care of Eddie's famous red guitar. He was David Dee...later of 60's Brit Pop band -Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.
Gene Vincent - Lonesome Fugitive.

Gene Vincent 'the man' and my favourite rock & roller along with the British rock & roller Johnny Kidd & the Pirates from the early/mid 1960s.

Gene cut some 'killer' rock & roll on his late 1950s albums and I also have a liking for his last couple of albums I'm Back And I'm Proud from 1970 and The Day The World Turned Blue from 1971 they weren't all out rock & roll but more in a country/rock style but they grow on you after several listens.
