The shouldn't really be a spoiler by now, but just in case...
Light-hearted before I get serious
WHAT THE FUKKK!?!?!
I don't have the energy to go into a breakdown of this episode. I will only say one thing right now. I have never felt more cheated by a TV series that I do right now.
MAJOR Spoiler, you've been warned.
That has to be the laziest, cheapest, cop-out end to a bad guy in the history of modern television. As Jaime and Cersei went down into those caverns, I said "if those two die down here, holding hands while the ceiling falls down on top of them, I'm going to be fucking PISSED!"
Lo and behold. The most vile character on the entire show (topping her POS eldest son) get crushed while holding her sister-fucker brother in her arms. We, as paying fans of this show, deserved a LOT better end to this wench
i'll have more to add this week, but for now, I needed to blow off some steam.
I called it on Dany going apeshit on the town and lighting it on fire, killing anyone and everyone. I expected that. It is going to play out in the last episode (will also make some predictions on that later in the week), but to see that vile, horrible Lanister bitch go down like that was a huge cop-out.
I don't know if there's ever been a more accurate meme on the internet. (at least concerning TV shows)
Pretty much agree with you, @Lynch. Yesterday before the episode, I told a friend of mine that who ended up on the Iron Throne didn't concern me as much as seeing Cersei suffer. What we got was way too romantic and not what the fans deserved. As for Dany, I think a lot of people, myself included, had seen that coming, so I can't say I was either surprised or disappointed - although I think the transformation could have been handled better. Plot twists aside, the destruction of King's Landing was gobsmacking.
Like father, like daughter....
I've been saying it for a couple of weeks that she was going to go full-on "mad queen" on the joint and torch the place.
I think that this deserves to be here as well, especially after this week's episode:
I'm disappointed in this season. That's all I'm going to say.
say all that you like, if you like. This is going to be a "WTF HBO?!" thread by the time it's all said and done.
The thing is, up until the latest episode, I thought the season was good (The Long Night was fantastic), so, I don't really get the hate for the season overall, but I can certainly understand that people feel disappointed with the latest episode.
