[font=arial, helvetica]former motorhead guitarist wurzel has passed away at the age of 61 accoring to lemmy bass tech tim butcher. In a facebook posting butcher stated, "rip wurzle. Great guitarist an a complete gent... We will miss you."

while no official statement has been released stating the cause of death, rumors are circulating that he suffered a massive heart attack while at home.

Born michael burston on october 23, 1949, wurzel was best know for replacing brian robertson (along with phil campbell) in motorhead and appearing on such studio albums as 'no remorse' (1984), 'orgasmatron' (1986), 'rock 'n' roll' (1987), '1916' (1991), 'march or die' (1992), 'bastards' (1993) and 'sacrifice' (1995). Wurzel left motorhead in 1995 and was last working with his new band leader of down.

Wurzel was a friggin' character. Lemmy tells a story about Wurzel trying very hard to crawl into a hotel bathroom mirror one night, for hours on end. He was making such a ruckus that someone called the police, and Lemmy had to talk them into not arresting him :heheh:
