I thought I would do an introduction to this series of posts dedicated to various albums that I have an appreciation for that come under the folk umbrella. Folk music encompassess a huge number of sub-genres but I'll be focusing on only a few of them like progressive folk, psychedelic folk(free folk, acid folk), British folk rock, and other contemporary folk rock artists mostly from the '60's and the '70's. You'll hear other influences as well like Indo-raga, Andalusian rock and others as alot of these folk-rock artists incorporated and fused many different styles of music.
