Female Singer/Songwriters

I just got into this new artist Laura Warshuaer, she’s got this rich folk/pop sound. Her self-titled debut just released on Fontana September 23rd. I can’t stop listening to “Sweet 17”. I can really relate to what she sings about. What do you guys think? You can listen to her stuff here

She is very good. Female Singer/Songwriters make me think of Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, Joan Baez, and Melanie.

I am very "PRO" female, for obvious reasons.

There have been alot of female singer/songwriters in music history. Not all of them may be people you listen to, but great in the field nonetheless.

There some good ones there in Magic's list that I have enjoyed. Joni Mitchells' Court and Spark was a masterpiece that I wore out on the turntable. The same with Carole Kings' Tapestry LP. I think Sheryl Crow is one of the best in recent years. And I've always liked Bonnie Raitt. Aretha sang with so much soul and I could listen to her anytime. My mom was a big fan of Aretha. My other genre that I spend a lot of time listening to is bluegrass. There are some really good female singer/songwriters in bluegrass. Carrie Hassler,Alecia Nugent, Donna Hughes to name a few.
