A couple of 'tasty' RAINBOW 'B' sides which are 'great numbers' in their own right but were left off a couple of studio albums are BAD GIRLS the B side to SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE in 1979 and JEALOUS LOVER the B side to CAN'T HAPPEN HERE in 1981. The B side to ALL NIGHT LONG in 1980 is a Ritchie Blackmore guitar instrumental called WEISS HEIM which apparently was (or is) the name of his house in the USA.

The lands of Marshall Stack.
Nostalgia also dictates this post, it goes back to when I only owned one single... literally!
The A-Side was actually quite catchy 'You Came Along'.... and I would happily flip over the disc, oblivious to my limited collection. I then out of embarrassment (also on Decca) purchased 'Sha La La La Lee' by The Small Faces. Little did I know that later Jon Anderson would form Yes... nor that the tentacles of this band stretched to Los Bravos, King Crimson, Bob Dylan, Jackson Heights and more.
Thanks to the marvels of 'Anorak TV' I found that this song featured in a 1960s beat movie.

I'm Going To Change The World - The Animals (B-side of It's My Life)

Opening riff sounds very familiar, like the third measure of It's My Life?
