Evergrey

Studio Albums
The Dark Discovery (1998)
Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy (1999)
In Search of Truth (2001)
Recreation Day (2003)
The Inner Circle (2004)
A Night to Remember (Gothenburg Concert CD&DVD) (2005)
Monday Morning Apocalypse (2006)
Torn (2008)
Glorious Collision (2011)

Evergrey is a Swedish progressive/power metal founded in 1995 in Gothenburg by Tom S. Englund. They mix melody with elaborate guitar structures and keyboards all packed in a dark atmosphere.

In my opinion their peak album is Recreation Day (1993)

Another album I have is The Inner Circle from 2004. The album was not very well received because of the high expectations that followed the previous album. But it is a great album.

Re: Evergrey

Very technical sounding music. Not bad at all. LG will like this group, without a doubt.

Re: Evergrey

Played that 04' album on the radio for a few months in light rotation when I was still doing radio. It was good, solid metal that worked for what I was doing.

Another band to add to my growing list.:grinthumb

I'll see if I can obtain a copy of "Recreation Day"...they sound like my kind of metal.

Evergrey is great! You should also check out Pagan's Mind. these two bands are very similar except Pagan's mind has a bit more progressive elements in the music. Evergrey and Pagan's Mind both are very melodic.

My favorite Evergrey album has been listed already, Recreation Day.

I will post the last track off this album:

and if you have the limited edition album the bonus track:

Re: Evergrey

Finally got around to playing a complete Evergrey album, the one Bob recommended as their best, "Recreation Day" and I am really impressed. Great songs, top notch production and the band does everything well. MusicMistress they do have some similarities to Pagan's Mind and also I got a Kamelot feel as well, both excellent bands too.

Highly recommended, I have two more of their albums and am looking forward to giving them a proper listen as well.

They definitely look metal to me.(The guy in the middle reminded me of the "Undertaker" from the old WWF wrestling days.:D)
