I thought I would start a thread on these guys from Italy!! They are a folk/metal band...and a really good one at that!! They actually came out in 2001 and have a really great sound! They've toured with bands like Edguy,Gamma Ray and Blind Guardian.

They also spread the overall sound around a bit so it's not just boiled down to one sound or style.
So if you like a bit of metal, folk, pop, punk or whatever else you may hear in them, all rolled into one...this is the band for you!!

I've seen their albums laying around but never checked them out.

These guys are really awesome and they have a lot of different styles going on! Of course I love the orchestrated parts but you are right that they capture a lot of the modern rock sound of the younger bands as well. The vocals are the closest I've seen another band get to A.F.I. to the point where if you told me this was the lead singers side project I'd believe you!

Yeah it's like a folk metal band with a pop twist and a modern vocalist...wierd...but I like it...it's trippy and they're fantastic musicians with good arrangements.

Elvenking is impressive. Very similar to Edguy, Sonata Arctica, and Eluveitie (yes MP I have been paying attention to your threads)

Right, thats instantly in my top 10 fav bands/artists.

Alot of the European power metal heads at this great site out of Sweden I used to be a member of years ago were very high on these guys. I never listen to them until now for some reason.
