Anyone remember these, Dread Zeppelin are an American band best known for performing the songs of Led Zeppelin in a reggae style as sung by a Vegas Elvis impersonator. Over the years they would also perform songs originally by Elvis Presley, Bob Marley and The Yardbirds. The group toured extensively around the world and spread their patented "zeppelin-inna-reggae-style" around the globe.

Re: Dread Zeppelin

Dread Zeppelin are great live! I seen them around '89/'90 & the show was so much fun. Tortelvis had an assistant that would constantly hand him towels & water throughout the show. One of the funniest parts(although it may not sound it when you read it but trust me just to see Tortelvis's facial expressions was hilarious) had to be "Stairway to Heaven". Tortelvis was at the front of the stage & the spotlight was on the guitarist during the intro to the tune. Just as the Spotlight turns to Tortelvis & he's got all his energy built up to really let loose on the first verse &...The spotlight switches to Rastafarrian Ed Zepplin behind his bongo drums & he belts out the first line in his reggae style voice. Tortelvis sings out with a pissed off look at Ed Zeppelin "& She's buying a Stairway to Heaven..." & the 2 alternate like this throughout the tune
