I remember seeing Dr Feelgood on t.v around this time [ 1975] and was amazed by the guitar playing style of the brilliant WILCO JOHNSON.......

Saw a covers band the other day and they slipped in a couple of FEELGOOD songs.....reminded me how good DR FEELGOOD were in their day...time to dig out the classic "stupidity"live album
Also heard there is a highly rated film based around DR FEELGOOD ..and has been shown on bbc4 a couple of times.....missed it:wa

Re: Dr Feelgood

Dr Feelgood were great live, on TV and in radio sessions, but they did not seem to be able to reproduce their performances on vinyl. The first album was quite a disappointment at the time. They were very scary in their intensity and made the punks seem like choir boys. I saw Wilco Johnson playing guitar for Ian Dury & the Blockheads and it seemed a chronic waste.

The film is called "Oil City Confidential". It's amazing. I went to the UK premiere at the KOKO.

I love the Feelgoods!

They did the best version I ever heard of the classic "Riot On Cell Block #9"
