My album collection so far:
Some of my forum friends are far more knowledgeable about this band than I am but here's a short introduction.
Let's talk about one of the most successful Hard Rock/Hair Metal bands of the 80's, Dokken. The band released their first album "Breaking the Chains" in 1983 and didn't get much attention in the US but Dokken was always very popular in Europe, not the first time my Eurpoean friends recognized quality before we did over here.
Jeff Pilson joined in 1984 and they released "Tooth And Nail" on Elektra records, along with the success of the album the tour with the Scorpions put them on the road to success. I have only recently gotten into this band due to MP and Pat and Lynch all being fans, so I can't claim to be an expert yet, but I do have 6 CD's now and so far "Tooth And Nail" is my favorite but I haven't played them enough to make a definite pick of the litter yet.
The original band recorded three more albums, "Under Lock & Key", "Back For The Attack", and a live album "Beast From The East", and that spelled the end for the original line-up. According to various sources the tension between Don and George reached the breaking point so they went their separate ways. Lynch is the expert in that realm so I leave that for him to talk about.
The original line-up.
