Demons and Wizards is a side project consisting of Blind Guardian's Hansi Kürsch and Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer.

Whilst I haven't had much time to get too acquanted with with, I do love what I hear! :grinthumb

They only have two albums out but I have both. Oblivion told me about them a few years ago, and then I finally convinced Magic to give them a listen.

I hope they do another record, maybe when Shaffer finds a new singer for Iced Earth him and Hansi can get together for another D&W project.

Is their band name a reference to Uriah Heep's album with the same name?

I always wondered that myself. I think a little bit they're tippin' the hat but also it's for both guys. Jon being the DEMONS and Hansi being the WIZARDS due to both bands lyrical themes.

Their name reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons ....
    :heheh:

These two are just an awesome combination of Iced Earth and Blind Guardian! Almost the best of both world IMO

I'm not sure if it's a reference to the old legendary band or not.

I will say Oblivion told me that the album's concept is based on a Stephen King series of novels...at least I think it was him or could've been Richard Jordan. It's been at least three years since we talked about Demons & Wizards so I can't be sure.:hm:

    Dungeons and Dragons :oyea:

That would have worked too!! One of the best dark metal ballads ever, IMO

    Sad as well....:uh:

    Apparently... according to Wiki page
Which is cool! I'm amazed how Uriah Heep were and still are influential.
