DEF LEPPARD TO TOUR WITH KANSAS AND HEART?
This News Is Brought To You By VH1’s Dave Basner

Are Def Leppard heading out on tour with Kansas and Heart this year? There have been rumors lately but nothing has been made official. However, Thomas Harmon, who is building a guitar for Kansas's Billy Greer, told SavannahNow.com that he hopes Greer brings the instrument on the road with him when Kansas tour with Heart and Def Lep in the spring. Again, nothing is official but you can stay up to date at KansasBand.com.

I'll go to this show if they come around, although I could take or leave Def Leppard. Kansas and Heart are two of my favorites.

I saw Kansas last year opening for Styx and Foreigner.I would see them again but I just want their set to be longer than 30 minutes.

Kansas is the only band I'm interested in on this bill so I will just wait and see them in a small club headlining again, if possible .

It seems weird to have Def Leppard and Kansas together on tour. I'm sure a little of the audience overlaps between the two bands but they are just too different.

I take it Leppard is on the tour with Heart/Kansas as the headliner and they are being used to help sell tickets so more people will watch Heart & Kansas?

Not much different than what Cheap Trick has been doing over the past 10-15 years. They have been an opening act for a bunch of more current bands who aren't even in their same genre, such as Motley Crue and Velvet Revolver (if I remember right on the latter).

All because Cheap Trick doesn't sell as many tickets as they used to on their own (if trying to headline), or play in venues as big as they used to, so they piggyback with bands who are selling a larger number of tickets just to get into the venue. Not that I am criticizing them for it, it's smart business.
