Re: Concert Viriginity

2002 I think it was. Drove 3 hours up to Hershey to see The Who with Robert Plant opening. I was so impressed I thought I'd never see a better concert than that. Now it probably wouldn't rate in the top 20 shows I've seen ha... Loved the all-night drive home too. It was just a great experience all around, classic concert experience.

That takes me way back, Heart played at my brother's graduation dance but for the first concert I bought tickets to that would be Jethro Tull on his "Heavy Horses" tour and John Wetton's band "UK" opened for them. I have never forgotten that concert everything was just perfect.

Lacuna Coil, In Flames, Chimaira and Caliban, London Hammersmith Apollo, December 2004.

This was a great gig, bit tiring though as I'd had to travel from Cardiff to London, book into a B&B and so on, and I ended up leaving before it was over due to tiredness. It was an amazing show though, and felt so different to all the local/pub bands I had seen up until this point, more...important, somehow, more meaningful for it comprising famous bands known the world over, who spoke with different accents to mine, and were known by more than just the local vicinity :)

First concert I ever went to was Glen Cambell back around 1973 or 74 with my Mom, I don't remember much about it other than I was pretty bored before it was finally over. First concert that I saw on my own was Kiss in '77 & at the time I was an outstanding member of the Kiss Army, so that show was Kick-Ass!

I lost my virginity when I was 13........My brother took me along with him and his buddies to see Led Zeppelin in Indianapolis, it was the Houses of the Holy tour. I can remember being in awe at all the lazers and smoke........but I wasn't into THAT kind of music yet.

The first concert I went to willingly, was an Aerosmith concert. Golden Earring was the opening act. This would have been in 1976 the rocks tour

Slade in a country club and the place was so rammed with folk the owners got prosecuted for breaking fire hazard regulations. Slade were brilliant though.

I went to my first concert when I was 12. Springsteen.

First metal show was a Slayer concert on my 17 birthday. That was pretty nuts.

First punk show consisted of Pennywise, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, The Suicide Machines, and Less Than Jake. (thanks to the last great warped tour in '03).

Re: Concert Viriginity

I don't think it qualifies as going to the concert but a few friends and myself road our bikes to County Stadium in 1975 and sat on Brewer hill listening to The Rolling Stones and the Eagles... the hill was packed. We were planning on going to see Pink Floyd the same summer but I remember it was pouring out... I was a puss.

The first ticket I bought was Pink Floyd's Animals tour at County Stadium in 1977... I was in awe... (and totally paranoid to spark up :peek)
