To an old "vinylholic" like myself, there is nothing more pleasing than seeing a classic record label. They don't have to be clever in their design, although it helps, but the knowledge that some great music was on the label roster makes me want to hunt down those dusty slabs of vinyl knowing that whatever the artist, there's a great chance that it could be good.

So here are five UK labels that somehow get my juices flowing (not literally) when I see them. There are very many more but . . . well I'd be here all day.

Island Records (two classic label designs)

Chrysalis Records (originally an offshoot of Island)

Blue Horizon (a great UK blues label, home of the original Fleetwood Mac amongst others)

Track Records (Hendrix, The Who etc.)

And finally Parlophone Records. An iconic label and home to many artists and one that has a long history behind it.

Not forgetting a host of others. So what are your favourite labels. Restrict yourself to five maximum and I promise you it may be difficult to do so :oyea:

I recognize a few of those Jeffrey, and Flower but some are new. I never collected 45's but I'd say Chrysalis, Island and London were three labels I found to be very good.

The Doors and Love were among the acts signed to the Electra Records label.

I love this one.

Also, the Elektra label that Hep posted is pretty badass.

I've always liked the Casablanca one, too.

My copy of "Rock and Roll Over" has that particular label. It's one of the first records my dad ever bought as a young hooligan.

Chrysalis, Mercury, Casablanca, Swan Song and Capricorn all had cool labels affixed to their vinyl records back in the olden days.

I already make cd labels that replicate a vinyl record, but now I want to figure out how to produce that record "wear-ring" your album covers had on my CD insert art. :heheh:
