I like the north American rock festivals of the late 1960s from 1967 through to 1970-71 such as the Miami pop festival in 1968 and the San Diego pop festival in 1969 and the Devonshire Downs pop festival also in 1969 along with of course the Woodstock Music & Arts fair on Yasgur's farm in 1969 and the Atlanta pop festival in 1970 because they were all part of the 'hippy counter culture' along with CSN&Y and the movie Easy Rider starring Peter Fonda & Dennis Hopper.

MOUNTAIN one of my all time favourite heavy rock bands especially during the first half of the 1970s along with West, Bruce & Laing and the Leslie West Band. Although regarded as a 1970s rock band the album the reformed MOUNTAIN recorded and released back in 1985 called Go For Your Life is actually a pretty good album to listen to with tracks such as Hard Times, Bardot Damage & Shimmy On The Footlights amongst several others..

I loved the early lps (up to including Avalanche),,,,but the first 2 are by far the best.
The later ones were West solo lps imho and not as good.
Also love Leslie West -Mountain his first solo from '69 and of course West Bruce and Laing is a must and Whatever Turns You On is ok.... they are 'almost as good' as the first two Mountain lps imho..(though the live lp is not that good)....not sure why they didnt continue as WBL unless Bruce wasnt happy about it but then I read there were drug problems going on.

ps:
I saw Sons Of Cream in my area last year with Malcom Bruce (played for a short while with West) on bass, Kofi Baker on drums and Robert Johnson on guitar ( who is related somehow to Claptons famiy)
They were not bad and probably will play the area again since Kofi Baker lives in northwest Indiana about 10 miles from the venue they played which is right near me in the area.
