Fantastic band, really love the sound of this bands music. Heartwork is probably my favourite of the band, and I was stoked to find out they have a 2013 return album to come out.

Whenever I listen to Carcass it amazes me how much metal sub genres they either pioneered or at least had some pivotal influence on. Their first release was sloppy production but had a lot of what good grindcore was about, so did Symphonies of Sickness.

Then Necroticism added a lot more groove to it and became more death metal focused. Heartwork was a leap further to pioneer what would become melodic death metal. Swansong was ok but definitely a step down in quality for what at the time was their swansong album. Surgical Steel was a radical kick in energy the band needed even though it came much later.
