Interesting band/music. Very melancholy music, some is even quite somber.

Yeah, I wouldn't say they were the most "upbeat" band, :D. They do convey a lot of the "desert" sound though.

 I like `em!....I have "Carried To Dust"....I love that '59 Airline that he is playing couple of those videos, Eastwood makes some uniquely cool guitars!

Welcome to Eastwood® Guitars.com

That's cool to know Garrett, I was not aware they used such a unique guitar.

Calexico Announce New Album Edge of the Sun, Share "Cumbia de Donde". Album features Neko Case, Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), more

Calexico are back with their follow-up to 2012's Algiers and the 2013 live album Spiritoso. Their new album is called Edge of the Sun, and it features collaborations with Neko Case, Iron & Wine's Sam Beam, Band of Horses' Ben Bridwell, DeVotchka's Nick Urata, Gaby Moreno, Mexican artist Carla Morrison, and others. It's out April 14 via Anti-/City Slang. Check out the album track "Cumbia de Donde" above.

The album was recorded in Mexico City. The band's Joey Burns said in a statement:

The ‘edge of the sun’ could be coming from the direction of darkness seeking light, or riding the line between both. Which side of this edge are you on? Traversing along the edge of the sun, that to me feels closest to what this album is and what the band has been, and where we are with this international makeup of musicians. Madrid, Nashville, Tucson, El Paso, Berlin; it’s an eclectic mix. All in all, this album is about pushing through the blue to brighter days. Calexico has always had that element of hope, going back and forth between a positive outlook and embracing desperate or dark themes that I think we all share.

Edge of the Sun:
01 Falling from the Sky
02 Bullets & Rocks
03 When the Angels Played
04 Tapping on the Line
05 Cumbia de Donde
06 Miles from the Sea
07 Coyoacán
08 Beneath the City of Dreams
09 Woodshed Waltz
10 Moon Never Rises
11 World Undone
12 Follow the River

Holy crap, I can't believe it's already been over 2 years since the last album.

Anyway, the band will release a new album called "The Thread That Keeps Us" on January 26th, 2018.
