Has anyone seen the darkness On The Edge Of Town's lost session album, The Promise which is out now?? Gonna pick it up today I think. Pretty excited about this one!!
This box set has just been released in the UK and is a great introduction to most of his work, I love his early stuff and now his later stuff, saves me buying the remastered versions individually too and saves space on the shelf.
These are my preferences witrh respect to The Boss:
Little Steven and Patti Scialfa, respectively E St Band member and wife.....never dug Bruce much and I prefer Born to Run to Born in the USA....know what I mean dontcha!!!!
What I like about Springsteen is that he's alot like Dylan in that his songs when covered by other artists are often as good as the original, if not better.
Case in point a cover of The River by the Clarks a Pittsburgh band that has some limited national success.
Execellent cover!
Or Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes' The Fever.
And even the Pointer Sisters do a damn good version of Fire.
