New music from Bon Jovi is on the way, with the release of the title track from their upcoming album This House Is Not for Sale next week.

Due on Aug. 12, the single advances the first-ever Bon Jovi album without any creative input from Richie Sambora, who departed in 2013. Burning Bridges, Bon Jovi’s most recent effort, featured a series of older songs — including a tune Sambora co-wrote — in order to fulfill the band’s contract to Mercury Records.

Leader Jon Bon Jovi has said there was an old-school approach to This House Is Not for Sale, his 14th album with longtime members David Bryan and Tico Torres.

“We were recording at different times and different rooms in the studio,” Bon Jovi said back in January. “That’s not happening anymore. We went back to the place [New York City’s Power Station] where we cut ‘Runaway’ in 1982 – where I used to sweep the floor and fetch coffee.”

Despite that return to familiar environs, Bon Jovi admitted that much has changed in the interim. “When I wrote ‘Runaway’ in 1982, my viewpoint wasn’t that big, but with every record and passing decade of our career, we evolve,” he said. “This record is about our integrity. Integrity matters and we’re at a stage of our career where we don’t have anything left to prove.”

Bon Jovi’s new promotional photo, included with social media posts about the advance single for This House Is Not for Sale, notably includes Hugh McDonald. He hasn’t previously been featured in official band shots, even though he’s been a member of the group since 1994. Philip “Phil X” Xenidis, a touring member since 2010, took over for Sambora.

I agree with that!

I was a huge Bon Jovi fan when I was a kid. I haven't bought or listened to any of their albums since "Keep the Faith".

wasn't a huge fan but did enjoy Runaway, Slippery When Wet, New Jersey and the album you said was the last you`d heard...Too! to me Jon Bon Jovi is to up him self. since New Jersey which seems to spoil the music as its all me me me stuff...
