Shall we keep it going for 2000's? I think so. From (Holy) Toledo, Ohio, Five Horse Johnson is swaggering heavy southern blues rock influenced by Blackfoot, Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Black Crowes and a shot of Zeppelin and Sabbath. Boisterous and brash, these greasy bad boys really know how to barbeque up some backroad blues. No.6 Dance(2001) smokes with the demon guitar attack and the Kyuss-esque vocals found only in a fire pit. Eat 'er up!

Picked up 3 of their records ("The No. 6 Dance" , "The Taking Of Black Heart" and "Jake Leg Boogie") on coloured vinyl this summer. All superb! Still need to pick up whatever else I can find.

I haven't heard their last 3 releases. 'Fat Black Pussy Cat' is a close second to 'The No. 6 Dance'.
