Bloodbath are a supergroup who comprise of members from Opeth and Katatonia.
They play pretty brutal death metal, they have 3 studio albums out and for me are a pretty awesome collaboration band. Mikael Akerfeldt made appearances for Bloodbath also.

Band Members
Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström – lead guitars, backing vocals (since 1998)
Per "Sodomizer" Eriksson – guitars (since 2008)
Jonas Renkse – bass (since 1998)
Martin "Axe" Axenrot – drums, percussion (since 2004)

Former Band Members
Mikael Åkerfeldt – lead vocals (1998–2004, 2005, 2007–2012)
Dan Swanö – drums, percussion (1998– 2004), guitars (2004–2006)
Peter Tägtgren – lead vocals (2004–2005)

Studio albums
Resurrection Through Carnage (2002)

EPs
Breeding Death (2000)
Unblessing the Purity (2008)

Live
The Wacken Carnage (2008, CD/DVD)
Bloodbath Over Bloodstock (2011, DVD)[

Here are some songs I really enjoy from this group.
Mock The Cross

Death Delirium

Process of Disillumination

Ways To The Grave

I was surprised at the fact they were major death metal. Being a collaboration of Opeth and Katatonia I expected doomy/progressive death metal. But I am a fan of this band, they did something outside their usual boxes so to speak.

Just discovered these guys a few weeks ago. Had always wondered what it would be like to have Akerfeldt front a traditional Death Metal band, & I wasn't disappointed. The second album with Tatgren is quite good, too.

The first ep and Resurrection Through Carnage (2002) are amazing and then they changed their sound to the modern production :grinthumb

The song that won me over as a young teen was this bloody beautiful sucker :

Favorite album was difficult to come to but I've listened to "Nightmares Made Flesh" a thousand times and then some. His vocals are some of the strongest in metal I've heard. Really convicting what he's screaming and growling about lyrically. The guitar work is also something to be noted but not required to be explained as the songs speak for themselves. The variation they instill is superb and prevents that flat predictable pattern we all eventually get sick of song to song.

Nightmare Mades Flesh was their second album mate - and their third release overall. Their first and imo best full length album was "Resurrection Through Carnage". They released an EP called "Breeding Death" before that, which I still consider my absolute favourite Bloodbath release. Around 13 min of pure awesomeness. I remember having it on repeat constantly when it came out – still listen to it regularly!
