I know I may send some people running and that's okay...but I like these guys..

Always have! I know they have that "emo" thing goin' on but between their humour and their melodies and overall catchy songwriting is still pretty infectious to me.

Just seeing if there are any other people who dig what these guys have done

Hey, I neither love or hate these guys but they have plenty of standout tracks for me! One thing I can say is that they I respect them for playing an outdoor show I attended in absolute pouring rain! It was awesome and they literally sliding!

My favorite Blink tracks are:

Adam's Song
(surprisingly serious track dealing with suicide and great punk ballad)

Stay Together For The Kids
(another serious one about divorce)

My favorite c.d. is:

Blink 182

It was the their most mature work and a great way to go out!

I Miss You

All Of This
(awesome track w/ Robert Smith of The Cure)

Box Car Racer

The Single was cool

I Feel So

The last BLINK CD you posted is a great CD...:grinthumb

The letter from Mark's Grandfather to his Grandmother while away at war is heartbreaking and still a deep moment on the disc for me.

I never could get into Blink 182, for some strange reason. It is not that they are labelled "emo" or anything like that, but I just dont get that "pleasure principle" from their music. Their music just doesn't sound all that good to me.

Re: Blink 182

I prefer Sum 41 to Blink, but wow... Blink is catchy... and I got in trouble in fifth grade because some prude teacher didn't like the picture on the front of the cd:heheh:
Enema of the State... then my brother got all mad at me because it was his and I took his CD... why do I remember this? I have no clue lol:dunno:

Yes I agree, I like Sum 41 a lot more than Blink. Maybe I am missing something in their music, but I have listened and listened and each time go

I do confess, I have not seen Blink "live". I have been told they do a good show live.

Re: Blink 182

blink-182 has never been emo. Their music was all around too upbeat to be emo and they never gave in to the image of emo (though I've not seem them since they reformed this past summer so they might have without my knowledge....though with Travis Barker being the way he is I really doubt it). When they came out they were much more like the epitome of pop punk that skaters really got behind for whatever reason. Though I'll admit that their music has basically become to the blueprint for EVERY emo band I think they've stay away from it.

If there is one band that has really jumped on the emo bandwagon as far as image is concerned I'd say it's not blink-182 but rather Green Day.

Stay Together For The Kids
(another serious one about divorce)

My favorite song by them.
