Got the following package yesterday. I had ordered it in good time, hoping it would arrive for my Birthday, but customs made sure that didn't happen.

1) Blackberry Smoke ‎– The Whippoorwill (Limited Gold Swirl vinyl, SIGNED) - I have several copies of this album, but figured I deserved a signed copy! :oyea: I'm still looking for a copy of the buttercream edition of this album - that's my holy grail right now!

2) Hand made enamel coffee mug

3) Limited edition Blackberry Smoke Spider Monkey Knife - Yes, I collect knives

Something to look forward to in these dark times...

On June 19th 2020, Blackberry Smoke will release Live From Capricorn Studios, an EP made up of covers that the band recorded at the legendary Macon studio. Proceeds from the EP’s sales will go toward MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.

For the recording session, Blackberry Smoke did not simply select a random assortment of songs; instead, they opted instead to pay tribute to the history of the room and city in which they were recording. “We chose a handful of songs that are Macon, Ga. songs,” guitarist Charlie Starr told Relix. “A couple Allman Brothers songs, a couple Wet Willie songs, a Marshall Tucker Band song that was recorded in that room at Capricorn and a Little Richard song that is not a Capricorn song, but since Little Richard is probably one of Macon, Ga.’s greatest gifts to the world, we recorded that.” Blackberry Smoke’s recording session at Capricorn marked the first time a major band has done a professional recording at the studio in over 40 years.

Live From Capricorn Studios track list:

1. Midnight Rider
2. Take The Highway = featuring Marcus Henderson and The Black Betty’s
Marcus Henderson currently plays with The Marshall Tucker band. He is playing flute on this recording.
3. Keep On Smiling = featuring Jimmy Hall and The Black Betty’s
Features Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie on vocals who originally recorded it there.
4. Grits Ain’t Groceries = featuring Jimmy Hall and The Black Betty’s
Features Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie who originally sang on their version of it as well.
5. Revival = featuring The Black Betty’s
6. Southern Child = featuring The Black Betty’s
Little Richard song from the album Southern Child

One more from the forthcoming EP. This time it's a cover of one of my all-time favourite Little Richard (R.I.P.) songs, "Southern Child" (featuring The Black Betty's and Jimmy Hall):

Here's 'Grits Ain't Groceries' featuring Jimmy Hall & The Black Bettys.

The boys started shipping the pre-orders a few days ago, so copies should arrive soon.... or in my case, a couple of weeks. :oyea:

Here's a brand new video for "Run Away From It All", a track from Find a Light, which is already over 2 years old. Whoa.

According to the band, a new album has already been recorded, so hopefully they'll announce something soon. Before Christmas would be nice!
