I can understand why he was upset, and he was right to point out his seniority in the business. Show some respect! Usher is alright but I'd rather listen to Green Day anyday.

Billy is headed for rehab. :bonk: Nowdays throwing a fit on stage means your next move is rehab? That's so NOT Rock and Roll!!

He's not being forced into rehab. The post on Green Day's Facebook says:

"Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."

After this whole thing onstage, he obviously must've sobered up and decided he had hit a bottom. I'm glad he's getting help though, very strong of him to do. :)

A couple of things on this:

1) in his rant, he's talking about having been doing this since 1988, oddly enough, he was one of the original members of GD which were formed in 1987. But... I guess he was close, so that's worth something.

2) No one on earth knew who the hell Green Day was before 1994, anything that came before that was nothing more than being a garage band and doesn't count one bit towards "seniority" imho.

3) Usher's first album also came out in 1994. Their "seniority" is about equal if you ask me.

Show some respect!
pfttt.. it's the Iheartradio awards show in a casino. Not exactly like some huge music festival. And for the record, Green Day hasn't put out a new album in 3 years. Sure they have something new coming out pretty soon, but it's NOT out and they really aren't smoking up the music charts right now. Usher, on the other hand, has an album that came out 3 months ago and has peaked at #1 on the US charts as well as the R&B charts. The 'respect' should go to the guys that are making the money right now, when you consider who promoted this event.

Usher is alright but I'd rather listen to Green Day anyday.
Personally, I wouldn't ever listen to either one on purpose, but that's just me.

Yeah I also read the statement from their website

...hope he's ok and gets the help he needs...the triple series for the new album (Uno Dos Tre) Uno, comes out today.

Yeah, with the new album(s) coming out, doesn't this whole thing actually kinda stink of some sort of pro-wrestling hype (ie: any advertising is good advertising) or (ie: total and complete publicity stunt)

I'd listen to Green Day anytime over Usher, I don't have one Usher record in the house.

Damned if we don't live in the "Politically Correct" era of society, a little loss of composure and you're off to therapy.:heheh:
