Van Morrison from Them

Paul Simon from Simon and Garfunkle

Michael McDonald from the Doobies

Peter Frampton

Eric Clapton (would have to be the biggest)

Phil Collins is really a solid candidate, isn't he? As for Clapton, I would have to say that I'm not at all sure that you could ever consider him not being a solo artist, since he tended to (whether intentionally or otherwise) so dominate any band he was a part of that he got solo-artist-scale name recognition regardless.

Outside of Derek and the Dominoes or Cream, I cannot listen to Clapton.
