Well it's December which means those "best of" end of the year lists will be coming out of the woodwork soon. I thought it would be nice for some of us to post out top album lists here. Mine won't be ready for awhile as I have too many albums to listen to.

Got to think about it more but off the top of my head I'd have to say Neil Young's Prairie Wind would top my list.

My list will be short and sweet.

Album of the year: Illinoise by Sufjan Stevens. Best music I've experienced since Brian Wilson finally finished SMiLE in 2004. Amazing, incredible project.

I'll take COLD ROSES by Ryan Adams, with CHAOS AND CREATION IN THE BACKYARD in the second slot. I'm going to have to think on what was third; I just heard Arcade Fire's album last week, and need to digest it a bit more.

I tried to listen to this via Rhapsody, and it wasn't available. It was high on the UNCUT end of the year list as well.

Sufjan Stevens and Ryan Adams were great choices! I loved those albums. Ryan Adams is swiftly becoming a favorite with me.

Now that I'm beginning to come back into reality, I'll add some other albums that I think are stellar from this year:

Chaos and Creation in the Backyard by Sir Paul
12 Songs by Neil Diamond
X&Y by Coldplay
Stand Up by the Dave Matthews Band
