There were albums from Pink Floyd, The Kinks, The Who and Dylan, but for me Zep just blew everybody away in that year. Their arrival was pretty spectacular.
Abbey Road- The Beatles
Led Zeppelin II- Led Zeppelin
Tommy- The Who
Five Leaves Left- Nick Drake
In The Court Of The King Crimson- King Crimson
Let It Bleed- The Rolling Stones
Ummagumma- Pink Floyd
Euphoria - S/T
Crosby, Stills & Nash - S/T
Al Stewart - Love Chronicles
The Byrds - The Ballad Of Easy Rider
The Moody Blues - On The Threshold Of A Dream
As a devout Beatles fan, I have to say this would be the only time which a list of best/favorite albums from the 60's that The Beatles were not number one:
Led Zeppelin-Led Zeppelin
The other four
Abbey Road-The Beatles
Led Zeppelin II-Led Zeppelin
Yellow Submarine-The Beatles
Bayou Country-Creedence Clearwater Revival
