Re: Atomic Rooster

Very trippy music. Their second release is the only one I am familar with:

Tomorrow Night is probably their biggest hit

Death Walks Behind You

This band reminds me of Iron Butterfly. The keyboard work is fabulous :)

Re: Atomic Rooster

:grinthumbThey do sound kind of alike, Doug Ingle drives Butterfly along with moody keyboard work much the same. (Another great band)

Re: Atomic Rooster

Vincent Crane was a genius and did not get the recognition he deserved, he could work wonders on hammond. I managed to pick up most of the re-mastered CD's for just over three pounds each and they were full of extra tracks.

In particular I like the extra live tracks where Chris Farlow sings for them in Paris and starts playing, "out of time" before stopping and saying, "sorry wrong one" and then goes into "Devil's answer", there was no laughter but then the french are not known for their sense of humour!!!

Re: Atomic Rooster

There is footage of Chris Farlowe eating a sandwich and laughing before he belts out a song for Rooster. Odd Character I saw him at a charity gig at Buxton and he took the piss out of Van Morrison for not turning up infact so did Zoot Money.

I've been meaning to get more heavily into Atomic Rooster for several months now.

Re: Atomic Rooster

I still love all the stuff they have done, really great music, the hammond really shines and the vocals roar. Still the highlight for me was seeing Peter French on stage doing Breakthrough whilst singing for Leafhound. That was something else :))
