All That Remains
All That Remains Official Website
Going way back to when I was only starting to get into music, All That Remains and Shadows Fall were the beginning of my experimentation on metal music. Mainly the idea was to listen to it and have a laugh at weird people thinking they were cool by playing Death Metal, ect
All I can say is, when I listened to them ... I laughed and began headbanging like an idiot.
Then they grew on me.
I enjoyed the semi-sporadic drumming, the melodic guitars, the changing pace, the alternating vocals and the entanglement of all instruments and vocals to create a complex yet entertaining piece of music.
Whether I'm being entranced by the drums, being taken on a journey by the guitars, trying to understand the lyrics and meaning of the song or singing out the parts that I do know,,, I thoroughly enjoy these guys and will continue to do so
Out of their 6 studio albums, I ashamedly only have one (Fall Of Ideals).
Studio albums are:
2002 ~ Behind Silence And Solitude
2004 ~ This Darkened Heart
2006 ~ Fall Of Ideals
2008 ~ Overcome
2010 ~ For We Are Many
2012 ~ A War You Cannot Win
Apart from that, Fall Of Ideals is a simply amazing album and has kept me very entertained over the years.
