Over the years, for the life of me, I can't think of too many guy vocalists that have given me goosebumps with their singing ... Layne Staley was one that could and still does. Just listened to Rooster and just like every other time, the guy's voice sends chills down my spine and down my arms. It's a damn shame that we lost him. I'd love to have been able to hear what he could have done with another 20 years and at least another half-dozen albums under his belt. And to add to this band, Jerry Cantrell is both a fantastic guitarist and backup vocalist. His backing vox mixed SO well with Layne's.

I still stick with this comment. It's NOT even close. AIC crushed the rest of the bands of that genre!
Agreed although Soundgarden is a close second for me and the first 2 Stone Temple Pilots records as far as talent goes.
