i bought two albums this year by this band- lots of good sounds were coming from Southend and Canvey Island...these increased the pub rock genre.

....this turned out to be a clone YES band- but I liked the cover(has a textured feel) and I bought it second hand['previously loved'] in today speak!
it was virtually brand new...never bought the follow-up LP.
I thought they were Scottish- to say I've lugged this about this here planet....it's remarkably unscathed!
Druid - Voices.

....still got the single!...at the time it sounded like Brooker had been listening to War?
Given the producers ...maybe.
I'd have bought this on a Wednesday
(used to bunk offa school with a phoney Chiropodist appt card)....the ninth album followed later.
Procol Harum - Pandora's Box.

Despite the Los Bravos style intro...I liked this and would have been a Woolworths purchase...they had a 45p deal for a 45rpm disc.
One hit wonders have always appealed (the follow-up Dr.Kiss Kiss~ I didn't bother with!)
5000 Volts - I'm On Fire.

I'd heard on late nite wireless ~the reworking of The Yardbirds 'Still I'm Sad'....and was eager to buy this after Blackmore slagging of Hughes all over the shop.

Wasn't disappointed and this track stood out by a country mile.Mickey Lee Soulee on mellotron adds totally to it!
Rainbow - Catch The Rainbow.

...I inherited this album from my oldest Brother who'd done a 'moonlight '...better than Weather Report and I'd already started to appreciate Stanley Clarke via 'Cabbage Alley'
Not the average kid from the projects it seems! (I think my Dad's Django Reinhardt 78s seeped in)

.....I'd had a 'slight' [heated] disagreement with a member of staff in the lunch hall-and got booted out..my pal Aidy had just bought Physical Graffiti on double cassette format...wanting to diffuse another potential expulsion, he switched on his Bush tape player....and this came blasting out: # never forgot that Catholic School incident 50 years on!
i didn't know at the time that the same Mobile Recording truck also did Exile on Main St in'72.....I draw similarities now....in how its compiled, sound and feel.
LedZeppelin - The Rover.

If anyone has seen my Top 20 threads, there were several years ('73-'80) of '73'-90 that i documented what album/8 Track/Cassette that I bought. Here's one to add to Nai's above around Physical Graffitti.

April 11, 1975- Physical Grafitti-

Quite a story with this album. I bugged the hell out of my record store to get Physical Graffiti, and had "urgent" and "priority" status put my order. When I got the call to pick up, that night I thew a Zep Album party with nine of my closest rocking buddies, and we had a formal unwrapping and First Play Party. As far as I know, I was the first kid in the state to get the album. That's at least what the record store told me. And more Hawaiian Punch and Chips Ahoy than anyone could eat. And finally kudos to parents for letting me have the house for the evening, along with the parental HiFi
