I have a question for the rock community,if a rock band were to put out and album with all good songs on it with absolutely no duds or filler, would it sell.what I'm saying is good hooks, great singing, fantastic solos, the kind of album that no matter where you drop the needle the song is good, again would it sell?

I think that would be the absolute ideal. How many albums do you know that are like that? Maybe as many as 20 in the history of rock music. Would it sell? - in theory it should but there have been an awful lot of albums that never made it because of bad publicity or lack of promotion.

Its a question that is hard to answer definitively since its entirely subjective to each listener as to what album is solid all the way through.

Some friends and I were talking the other day about that special period between
1970--73/74 maybe, when almost every other rock lp that was released are
now considered classics; we didn't realize nor appreciate 'the harvest' of releases
we were getting currently during that period. But we loved it and had a great time
listening to it all. Still do. I collect old music rags and find it very entertaining to
sometimes read what the rock press thought of a release back in the day.

Even classics can have weak songs. Don't let your love for a group blind you of that fact.
