I just had another thought for your project. Look in to Les Paul and the things he did in the 1950s. He was a musician and a Luthier who also pioneered some interesting ideas with delays and tape effects and also sold lots of records. He was a pretty clever guy whose name lives on in that most famous and respected guitar which has been used by so many people from the 1950s until now, and especially in the 1970s in twin guitar bands like Thin Lizzy and such : The Gibson Les Paul.
