Such an over used phrase today..but diversity was the watch word in 1979 - rock still was a tour de force, disco was still hanging in there, the first simmerings of rap were starting to bubble, punk and post were on full tilt. Not to mention the mod revivalists, pap pop and new romantics hammering at the door...with locks as long as Gillan and more frilled blouses than Procol Harum could shake a stick at!
