    Whitesnake (Official Thread)

Sykes-era all the way for me. I enjoy the pre-Slide stuff, but it was Sykes that got me into the band.

    Female Fronted Metal Bands

Los Angeles gothic thrashers Fear of God (ex-Détente) featured the late Dawn Crosby on vocals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7FaqJI52sU

    Favourite Megadeth Guitarist? (Excluding Mustaine)

The only problem I have with Broderick is his lack of feeling. He shreds like a typewriter.

Cool that you mentioned Kotzen and Howe. I've been wanting to check them both out but forgot their names. Thanks!

    Shred Metal

I'm on a Shrapnel Records high(especially Racer X) these days and was wondering if any of you guys are into some of these cult acts? Some of my favorites include: Jennifer Batten - Above Below And Beyond Jason Becker - Perpetual Burn Buckethead - Bucketheadland & Giant Robot Cacophony...

    Favourite Megadeth Guitarist? (Excluding Mustaine)

Close tie between Poland and Friedman. Not as technically proficient, but I'll have to go with Poland for his left-field style.

    Favourite Megadeth Drummer??

Gar was an interesting drummer, but I don't think his jazzy style gave Megadeth the punch they needed. I'll have to go with Nick.

For me it's the label... :uh:

    Is Alice Cooper Metal

It's one of the most diverse genres in all of music, so it obviously can't be all that bad.

    Overkill (Official Thread)

They had an embarrassingly weak period on the late 90's, but delivered 110% on Ironbound. Electric Age seems killer as well.

    Is Alice Cooper Metal

    Makes sense to me.

Preferred them after they got rid of their Power Metal influences. Years of Decay and Horrorscope for me.

    Iron Maiden (Official Thread)

I actually prefer The X Factor over No Prayer For The Dying and Fear of The Dark. It's a much darker effort, and I wasn't bothered by Blaze's voice much if at all.

    Is Alice Cooper Metal

I get what you say, but I really don't think there's much to discuss when you listen to tracks like "Freedom". Lot's of double bass drumming, heavy downpicked and plam muted riffs, shredding solos etc. If that isn't Heavy Metal, then Priest's Stained Class isn't either. But hell, Heavy Rock...

    Tim "Ripper" Owens

Not a big fan of Ripper, but it's simply pathetic how desperately the press has been trying to start a Owens vs Halford beef. I've read several headlines that made Ripper look like a total dick, only to discover how his answers where turned against him. I also fail see how him stating his...

Not a big fan of Andy's over-compressed production job, but the music is just so good that it shines anyway. Absolutely stellar material.

    Judas Priest (Official Thread)

Sure they are part of the family, but that doesn't make them a part of the NWOBHM movement. They belong to the initial wave along with Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. NWOBHM was used to describe the bands that came out AFTER the punk movement.

    Judas Priest (Official Thread)

Turbo is pretty good for what it is, while Ram It Down fails on pretty much every level.
