And I still listen to them regularly.
MTV was bad for music....well at least Classic Rock.
While overall it was good for Classic Rock artists like ZZ Top, J.Giels and others the damm videos made bands play less kick ass and more pop friendly.
With that said, I think one of the most "powerful" and MOST IMPORTANT performances ever came from The Who in "The Concert for NY" This was shortly after the 9/11 World Trade Center disaster.

In the late 70's a movie was made called "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".
The movie was........let's just say not good.....although it was on some cable station a few years ago and for some reason I watched it....again.
It was like a whose who of music/pop culture in the late 70s...

It's songs from the White Album done by Blues artists.

When I look at "still" photo of the youtube shot, one of the guys looks like they guy from the 80's show Full House.
Cheap Trick are big Beatles fans.
They did a version of Magical Mystery Tour on their greatest hits Cd.
They did the complete Sgt. Pepper live CD
but my favorite of them is Day Tripper.
