Re: Rate The Song Above You II
Wow, not something that I would buy but I was really sucked in by it and enjoyed it. The chorus reminds me of a Paul McCartney solo song and the verse reminds me of 80's new wavish pop. Not looking at the video really improves the listening experience. 7.5/10...
Re: Rate The Song Above You II
That is so not my cup of tea. I probably should abstain from rating this one, but I will give it a 3/10 on the grounds of it seeming so lifeless to me.

I'm not talking about songs by your favorite artists, I'm talking about those songs that you try to avoid hearing accidentally on the radio or the television because you know that you will catch yourself humming it, singing it, or thinking about it. I know that some of them can be embarrassing...
Zeppelin: Presence, a GREAT guitar album! Achilles Last Stand and Nobody's Fault But Mine are great tracks.
AC/DC: Stiff Upper Lip is IMO under appreciated.
Black Sabbath: Born Again
ZZ Top: Tejas, I LOVE this album. Some of the songs have a Rolling Stones vibe, which is a departure.
Re: Rate The Song Above You II
The arrangement is too busy in sections and the production values are poor. There are sections of the song that I love and sections that sound like an angry yet swinging beehive .Good musicianship. 6.0/10

^^^That is some good, hard blues. I like it! Dig the twin guitars and harp but I actually think that I would like it more without the vocal.

Dickey freaking Betts! One hell of a guitarist who was overshadowed by Duane Allman and later to some degree by Warren Haynes.

Anyone who criticizes the condition of Brian's voice is dead wrong. What he can STILL do in his 60's is a superhuman feat considering the way that he has mistreated his voice on stage and his smoking habit. That man deserves all the credit in the world for effort and does not merit one word of...
Pretty neat. They play some Bon era stuff that they never play anymore and it is amazing how much energy they are able to conjure up with no audience to play to. Good, raw http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=-beS9Plaa_8
This album was a sudden and jarring shot of rock evolution that introduced musical sounds and techniques that been used again and again since its release.
I am super psyched about teaching my 10 yr old son bass! He started with 7 Nation Army about 3 months ago and now can play several songs. I will upload some to YouTube and link them in the future. It really pleases me that he is listening to and learning to play some Rock while his friends at...
Re: AC/DC - For Those About To Rock ( We Salute You) (1981)
I absolutely LOVE AC/DC but you could take the best songs from the albums covering the period of FTATR to Blow Up Your Video and make one decent AC/DC album out of them. The title track is a classic, but when you consider the album as...
