    The Who....some1 please explain...

There's lots of tracks by the Who that I really love and play a lot. A good compilation is long overdue unless there is already one that I'm not aware of.

Does what a band wears/looks like matter?

I want to say no, it doesn't matter but truthfully it probably does. It's what the marketing men call image. Not having an image is an image in itself. Even Punk became a fashion. How much it influences me now I'm not so sure about but first impressions etc...

    Live Albums

Free - Free Live and Rory Gallagher - Live in Europe are two great live albums that haven't been mentioned yet. But I'd also add Led Zep - Song Remains the Same, Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous and Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road. You did say 5, didn't you?

The Smashing Pumpkins - Oceania (2012)

I’m really disappointed with it. Too much keyboard, not enough guitar and no hooks from my perspective. I’ve deleted my copy and feel it’s best forgotten.

    King Crimson (Official Thread)

Just moving some stuff about in the house and looking at the cover of a Pete Sinfield solo LP, 'Still'. Don't have a turntable these days but as I remember it, the title track was great and featured Greg Lake. (Woman in a reptile's mouth on the cover?)

    advice from genesis fans wanted.

Personally I look on them as two different bands. Peter Gabriel was Genesis for me and I think there should have been a change of name when he left and the band went in a different direction. A bit like Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Or Floyd without Waters. Or Floyd for that matter without Syd...

How were you introduced to RocK? And rate the taste in music above you

Oh and meant to rate Lord Grendel 10/10. Music is subjective and if you're enjoying it, I can't argue with that...

How were you introduced to RocK? And rate the taste in music above you

I started listening to Rock music as a child. Freinds, family, TOTH, The Old Grey Whistle Test and we had some good rock shows on pirate radio then. In Ireland, most of us are brought up Catholics. At 12 you make your confirmation and people give you money. I remember well spending it on Thin...

    King Crimson (Official Thread)

Great to see King Crimson get the recognition they deserve here! I like the earlier stuff most but just to add to what's already been said, the live Earthbound album's a great listen with a great version of Schizoid Man. And I still love the McDonald and Giles album. - Scream for more!

    The Imagined Village (Official Thread)

Try Chris Wood's Handmade Life and/or Trespasser, really excellent albums. Another good folk band around at the moment are Show of Hands. Their Arrogance, Ignorance and Greed is worth a listen too.

    The Imagined Village (Official Thread)

Headed up by Chris Wood, an amazing artist well worth checking out. One of the female vocalists Eliza Carthy has some good stuff too. On occasson, they can be very folky with fiddles and banjos so yo need to do your homework to get the more contemporary stuff. 2 great IM albums but the first...

God the first reply worried me! But I'm glad to see that some thought he was worth a mention.
