I'm trying to remember a certain band who did a cover of The Beatles "Across The Universe" but their name escapes me. They are a European band, possibly German, with a very pretty woman who sings on at least some of their songs.
Anyone know who this is?
There were a few rock songs that were recorded that were definite radio material but for some reason were never pushed by the studio.
Maybe the song was a bit too long or the band was unknown at the time. Whatever the case, name the rock songs that were legitimate hits that should've been on...
This was a song called, In Flux by a band named Sad Lovers and Giants. I can make out what I think some of the lyrics mean but I'm curious if anyone else wants to take a stab at it.
Big talk and gunsmoke
Death plays the white man
Strutting on film again
Suffer the weak hearts
Faecal emotions...
It's easy to find the worst cover art albums of all time because they've already been put on a list that everyone on the Internet has already seen. Most on that list are bands that no one has even heard of before.
But what about good albums that have equally bad cover art?

I want to hear new music from classic bands but I want it to sound like their old stuff.
Are there classic rock bands who have put out new stuff that sounds a lot like their old?
This is Alexey, a very talented young drummer who does a really nice job trying to keep up with Mr. Terry Bozzio's drumming. I don't play drums myself but this looks like a pretty difficult piece to play.

So I'm trying to sell my car and I'm waiting for my appraisal at the car lot. Sitting in the waiting room, over the speakers I hear a song I recognize put can't quite make out as it's playing in the background.
Listening closer, I hear that it's "Rock and Roll Star" by Barclay James Harvest...
There was a pop song that came out in the early to mid 00s which had English lyrics but sounded very French. I believe it had a squeeze box in it which gave it that unique French sound.
Anyone?
What songs should be played on the radio from a certain band instead of the ones that are played instead because they were #1 hits or whatever?
For me, I can't stand hearing "Kiss On My List" by Hall and Oates over and over again on my radio. Those guys had a few #1s, but for some reason...
I know a lot of people don't like the overproduced sound of that decade. I've heard it called "plastic" and "soulless" amongst other things.
Some though will say it worked great for a lot of bands of that time.
What do you think is the best and worst examples of this type of production...
APP is probably my favorite band/entity in music. Just wondered if there were other fans of them on here and what your favorite songs are.
My list is always changing. But for right now, I'd go with the following:
1) Shadow of a Lonely Man - Pyramid
2) The Cask of Amontillado - Tales of...
I know this is for the most part a rock thread, but I wanted to put these songs head to head. Feel free to explain your pick.

Railroad Man by Ryuichi Sakamoto

Somebody posted a video here once of a band that sounds like they are a 60s R & B band. I think they have a woman as the singer.
Apparently, they even use analog equipment to record their music. Anyone know who this is?
Gene has made the papers once again, this time declaring that rock was murdered years ago, the time when Napster arrived and offered free music to everyone. He puts the blame on entitled rich kids but it's obvious that he's off on a rant and isn't thinking clearly. Everyone wants something for...
