Re: The reunion we have all been waiting for is gonna happen at the Olympics closing.
Re the Spice Girls ...couldn't the drivers go faster when circling the stadium ....they nearly fell off ....
my thing about Loudon was that when you saw him live it was interesting to listen to how he performed his own songs ....sad songs sung with humour and vice versa ...a unique talent ...
Yes ...have to admit that he is a difficult artist to pin down .....My favourite single album is the Del McCourey Band collaboration (The Mountain)...By the way his Galway girl became popular here in Britain and Ireland when used in a cider advert...
To extend the thread check out Dyin' Crapshooter's Blues (Blind Willie McTell and later Dave Bromberg more recently on You Tube ) great lyrics...Also As a bit of an old fogie and folkie I remember a song by Steeleye Span ..When I was on horseback which would fit with the earlier variants....
Yes Joe that's an awesome list ..if I wanted to select one album it would be Junior Wells and the Delmark album Hoodoo Man Blues from 1965 ..blues /rock you name it it still sounds fresh ...enjoy...
yes Someday Soon ..one of my personal favourites from an old Judy Collins album ...I saw her lasy year as she still has a good set of pipes..thanks Flower for the biography
Thanks Joe for the memory ....also at the same time Shirley and Dolly Collins were ploghing a similar furrow with Anthems in Eden and so on ...worth checking out
Nothing wrong with the Doors ...I was lucky enough to see them at the Isle of Wight Festival over here....One of my favourite tracks is Riders in THe Storm ....great on the Juke Box ...very atmospheric...
