    Best Cover Songs Redux

I'm not what anybody would call a big fan of The Dandy Warhols but that doesn't mean they are without talent. They released an album chock full of covers earlier this year and it's worth a few listens.

    Eddie Cochran (Official Thread)

The very first punk rock song in my opinion. It checks all the boxes.

I loved when Ian opened with this song in 2014 at The Beachland in Cleveland. Probably my all time favorite Ian Hunter show out of the 18 times I've seen him.

    This Day In Rock History

I for one was surprised when Robert Palmer became a big MTV superstar. I loved his simpler pub rocker "Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor Doctor)" in 1978 and later discovered his totally awesome album, "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley" from 1974.

    This Day In Rock History

Hey, I just want to say I enjoy this feature on this board. I am surprised there are not many follow up comments.

Children of the Revolution vs All the Young Dudes

I think All The Young Dudes did so much more on a much broader stage. Mott The Hoople took a Bowie guide vocal version and reinvented it to become a song that defined a generation. I'm a dude, man! I always thought it was a little petty that Bowie never recorded a version until the Aladdin...

What Are You Listening to Now? Pics/Videos

A new release by Jon Spencer on May 12. The long time garage rocker is being backed by the bassist and drummer of the Bobby Lees and they are smokin' hot. I saw them once and look forward to the next time they come around. "It was Telly Savalas not Chef Boyardee, Who loves ya baby"

The History Of Prog Metal In 21 Albums

I know them from the syndicated Z Rock radio in the '80's whose programming made most metal bands that you had heard of seem like wussies. King Diamond was their version of middle of the road. I would include Manowar in prog due to their mythology themes and the talent of Ross The Boss on...

    King Crimson (Official Thread)

It's fascinating that songs from this album were played on FM stations before corp rock took over. I remember speech class in high school and interpreting the lyrics of "Talk To the Wind'. I was wild like that!

I believe we are the same. My turntable does have the he 'AT' at the start but the 'BK' is only on my purchase order, not the turntable. It's a nice turntable though some audio reviews say otherwise.

    Best Cover Songs Redux

I love cover songs! I love how everybody has different criteria for what constitutes a great cover song. Faithfulness to the original or reinventing and making it your own? I fall into the camp that like reinventing is best. I'll start with a band I've seen three times and I just adore...

^What model Audio Technica is that turntable? I have a AT-LP120XUSB-BK. I'm getting ready to get new speakers and Equalization. I'm thinking of Mackie blue tooth capable subwoofer and 4.5" bookshelf speakers. I'm more worried about reasonable quality over mind melt volume. My next concert...

    Molkie Cole (Official Thread)

I believe their label Janus Records went belly up shortly after the release. I also remember them being musical hosts for a few days on Dinah or Mike Douglas. Hmmm...what else, their album cover was done by somebody of some fame but I can't remember the story or artist. Their album is...

What Are You Listening to Now? Pics/Videos

^ I remember seeing a TV ad for a Triumph concert in the late '70's or early '80's. The ad was boasting of some outrageous number of runway lights on the stage. It was a number that would certainly burn a retina quicker than a laser at a BOC show. The one time I saw Triumph they didn't have...
