    I never saw Grand Funk live but had friends that did and they always mentioned how freakin loud they were....for me personally its a toss up between Deep Purple and Ted Nugent, maybe because of where I was seated, they without a doubt made a contribution to my tinnitus.

    If we're just talking stock cabs, I would choose a Mesa cab over a Marshall, I've always liked Marshall amps.

    Not anymore, I'm using the Mesa cab with another amp now, just use the quad with it and has x patterned Celestion G12T-75 and V-30 speakers.

    I can't recall doing that for the mainliners, maybe not knowing much about the opening bands on occasion, but that wasn't always a bad thing, sometimes they played their ass off and were better.

    Re: UFO - Most Underrated Band of the 1970s? UFO's third album, Phenomenon '74 , I really liked the song "Rock Bottom" on that LP, I think that was UFO's first release with Schenker after he was "stolen" from the Scorpions. "Obsession" and "Lights out" are up there also.
