I saw The Captain and the Kid for a good price down at the store the other day, and I read on wikipedia how Elton was disappointed that didn't sell as well as he'd hoped. Well, I liked Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, and I liked the names of the songs for the Captain and the Kid...
Re: What are you listening to Vol 8
Was listening to this earlier. Cute, with some hints in the more new agier stuff of what ABWH would be like. But now I'm listening to:
But I skipped the track Time.
Re: Camel
Camel are underrated. Just picked up Moonmadness and am really enjoying it. Great sounds and things, and the Spirit of the Water vocal effect reminds me a little of the liquid voice in Genesis' Fountain of Salmacis.
:bonk::D
Re: The Official "The Darkness" Thread
Darkness are great fun. I think the world could do with another single from them, and a great video to go with it. :D
Re: The Alan Parsons Project
They're prettty good. I've got "Turn of a Friendly Card" and "The Essential". Very lush orchestration and such. Reminds me of second hand stores, this band for some reason. And there's kind of gloom to them, this focus which I have to be in the mood for.
RIP Eric...
Very creative group, and some evocative sounds. Some of their more trippier stuff used to give me a headache. Though I haven't heard heaps, and there's lots to hear.
Re: Moby Grape
They rock quite thoroughly, and I think it's a good thing that this thread hasn't slid off the front page of the 1960s rock page. :grinthumb
Poor Skip, I must say.
Re: The Yes Thread
Yes is probably floating round in my top 5 favourite bands. Really like the song "Awaken", "Wonderous Stories", all of "Going For The One" is pretty good.
So many great tracks on so many different albums, as a group and in other projects. Getting into Jon Anderson's...
I really enjoy this one. It was the first Steve Hogarth era Marillion album I purchased. I used to listen to Cover My Eyes (Pain And Heaven) over and over, such a joyous track.
