Pretty awful song, but i loved it too back in the day (and my kids all know it!)
Hated 'Brown Girl in the Ring' though!! (nearly as much as [the unrelated] 'Karma Chameleon'!)
Didn't see it in 1970, but a couple of times since (and re-watching it now [bit un-PC (i.e. sexist) today!]). And the T.V. series is an elemental part of my youth - and responsible for some of my outlook on things.
Not the definitive cover version of that song (will there be such a thing?), but not bad at all.
